Philosophers remind us that “the older order changes and yields place to the new.” In our digital age this is profoundly, disruptively true.  This class will explore six disruptive technologies and the factors driving their emergence. The preliminary list includes transportation focused products – electric/hybrid vehicles, autonomous vehicles, and robotics (including drones and bots) – as well as broad-impact technologies such as 3D printing, block chain transfers and the internet of things.  After a context-setting introduction, each class will focus on one technology –hopefully with insights from outside experts and active class discussion.
