M101 | Introduction to Hiking in the Berkshires

Meet at the trailheads of various properties in the Berkshires and enjoy the benefits of nature and physical activity while walking 2-4 miles on trails through scenic meadows, woodlands and hills. Notice the flora and fauna, and the natural and historic features of our outstanding Berkshire landscapes. Participants must be moderately fit and capable of walking 2-4 miles on uneven, hilly ground and rocky and root-filled trails; must wear sturdy walking shoes and be prepared for weather changes. Use of hiking poles is suggested.

In her former life, Elizabeth Dillman ran a small creative advertising agency and founded, published and edited a magazine here in the Berkshires. Now retired and a certified Appalachian Mountain Club hiking leader, guiding hikes in all parts of the Berkshires since 2007. Over the years, Elizabeth has led more than 350 hikes. She loves to share her passion for the trail!
