Lessons will build on techniques and concepts such as perspective, grey scale and composition. Participants will challenge themselves every week to develop more confidence in their drawing abilities. Class members will learn to observe more carefully and translate what they see onto the page.

Ilene Richard is a full-time professional artist who works out of her studio located at the Clock Tower in Pittsfield. Richard earned her BFA from The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and continued her studies at the Museum School Boston and the DeCordova Museum. Ilene has worked as a children’s book illustrator having many books published with Random House, Scholastic, Grossett and Dunlap, Highlights, Spider and Leapfrog magazines, to name a few. Her paintings have received awards and she has exhibited extensively across the country and is represented by galleries from Miami to Vermont. Ilene is a juried artist member of the Rockport Art Association and Museum and the National Association of Women Artists.
