When one thinks of classical music composers, who immediately comes to mind? Most often they are Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Schubert, and other European composers of the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. But what about the great composers that are home grown, those who are from the United States? We will explore the history of American composers, their biographies, and the amazing compositions that showcase their extraordinary creations. Some of them you know and will be familiar with their music, but many will certainly surprise and delight you.

Ken Stark has been involved in many cultural organizations in the Berkshires.  He is currently on the Board of Directors of 18 Degrees, the Advisory Committee of Kids4Harmony, and has previously served as a Board member with the Berkshire Bach Society and Berkshire Theatre Group. He is a former professor at the City College of New York and school psychologist for the City of New York Department of Education.
