What awaits us on the summer stages in 2022?  Artistic Directors, who creatively set up productions on outdoor stages, in spacious tents, or around museum pools the summer of 2021, are at work on the tentative 2022 season.  Change is coming as two Artistic Directors, at Barrington Stage and Williamstown, are leaving. Join us by Zoom for a perspective on the local performing arts from a Critics Panel and a close-up of the new season from ten local artistic directors.

Moderator Naomi Spatz is the co-founder of New York’s Golden Squirrel Theatre.  She created “Teachers Night on Broadway “and “Kids Day on Broadway.”  The arts run in the family as she is married to playwright and OLLI instructor Steven Somkin.

Moderator Barbara Waldinger holds a Ph.D. in Theatre from City University of New York Graduate Center; taught at Queens College, Hofstra University and Marymount Manhattan; and since 2000 has served as the Artistic Director of HRC Showcase Theatre in Columbia County, NY. She is also a theatre critic and member of the Berkshire Theatre Critics' Association, co-founder of OLLI's Performing Arts Initiative and co-leader of OLLI's Playreading SIG.
