M201 | The Berkshires Difference: When the Best Man for the Job is a Woman | Ellen Croibier Mondays - 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Hybrid - in-person at BCC and Online |
Ellen Croibier will lead discussions with local women leaders in fields where men usually fill the top roles including architects, directors and producers, musical performers, religious leaders, and the media. Each week such well-known local figures as Pam Sandler and retired architect Barbara Kalish; Suzanne Nelsen and Catherine Hudgins of the BSO; Anne Undeland and several of our OLLI’s own directors; Marcie Setlow of the Berkshire Edge, OLLI’s own Carol Allman-Morton and others will discuss how they achieved success in their careers, whether their gender had an impact on their work partners, clients and customers, and what advice they would give to young people, especially women, today. BCC students will be invited to attend to provide their own perspectives. Before moving to the Berkshires, Ellen Croibier was a mortgage banker serving the New York City and Northern New Jersey markets. At various points in her career she was the only female loan officer in the organization; opened, staffed and managed a branch office; and was the second highest producing originator in the country for Chase Home Mortgage Services. She is currently Chair of OLLI’s Contemporary Gender Roles Shared Interest Group and serves on the Board, Member Services, Marketing, Finance and Diversity Committees and the Curriculum Council. She previously served on the Development and University Days Committees. Although she often facilitates courses, this is only her second time as an instructor. |
