Mount Greylock is the highest peak in Massachusetts and a honeycomb of trails makes it possible to hike all the faces of the mountain. We will pick six moderate trails to explore different facets of Mount Greylock. Trails will take us to waterfalls, to the Appalachian trail, to vistas, and to breathtaking rock faces.

Many trails are eroded and the footing is uneven. Class participants should expect uneven trail surfaces and some steep climbs. Participants should have sturdy hiking shoes and poles for these hikes.

This class will be led by four experienced OLLI hiking leaders - Len Gray, John and Kate Kidd and Amy Whitworth. In addition to leading the hikes, hike leaders will share their knowledge of the geology, land uses, plants, and perhaps animals we might encounter on the trail.
