One Optional In-person Session - 2/24

Online + In-person at BCC

“Who’s there?”  Hamlet’s opening question invites us to examine one of drama’s most interesting and complex characters, as well as the court which surrounds him.  In this course we will work through the text and will look at excerpts from various productions, highlighting the many ways in which this play can be brought to life.

Class members in the Berkshires will also have the opportunity for one optional class session in person.  The Shakespeare & Company touring production will be performing in the Lenox area during the late winter/early spring. There is the possibility of an optional “field trip” for those interested in purchasing tickets, details to follow.

Required Reading: Hamlet by William Shakespeare (Folger paperback edition is best, but any version will do.)

Ann Berman is a life-long learner and Shakespeare fan. After a career working in middle and high schools outside Boston, and after earning a Master's degree in her 60’s, she moved to Lee and now spends her time volunteering at OLLI at BCC and at Shakespeare & Company in Lenox.
