French Conversation SIG

Do you speak French?  Would you like to get together with OLLI Members once a month (or so) and chat in French for an hour or so?  If so, the French Conversation SIG might be right for you.  There is a wide range of French fluency within the group, ranging from French mother tongue speakers through to people trying to  revive their HS French skills.  Some knowledge is required, you would want to be able to participate in the discussions to get the most out of the group.

In non-COVID times we meet in local caf├ęs and sample their coffee and croissants while chatting, but nowadays, Zoom seems to work pretty well for our meetings.

Check below to see details of our upcoming schedule.  Other proposed topics include reviewing a French movie or TV show, discussing French poetry and holding a virtual auction on French treasures and trips (you would have to say why you are interested in order to place a bid).

Please contact Monica Sinclair for more details or additional information about the French SIG.

May 2021 Meeting - Tales of La Fontaine - Monday, May 17th at 4pm

Check out the French Conversation SIG Bulletin Board  to read the French and English versions of the four fables we have selected for this meeting.

Choose and present a fable of La Fontaine in as imaginative a way as possible. We will send you a list of Fables and the text. Then explain what there is about the fable that appeals to you and tell us how its message resonates in your  own life.   Contact Barbara Waldinger for more information.
