M104 | Learn to Draw | Pamela Quirinale Mondays - 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. In-person Limit: 12 |
Many of us have not drawn since we were in elementary school! But drawing can be fun, and not as difficult as we might think. In this class you will learn the Basics (and then some). Working out of your sketchbook, each week we will cover a different topic, such as: people – faces and figures, animals, houses, plants, and still-life objects. We will begin with line drawing and then learn shading; and progress from one object in a drawing, to several. Drawing is relaxing and can also help in communicating with others. Supplies are kept simple, and are listed below: -Large sketchbook – 8.5 inches x 11 inches -A basic ruler (12”) -Drawing pencils: 3 Art pencils, light to dark: HB, 4B and 8B; and a regular #2 pencil. -Pencil sharpener (simple) -Eraser (Art eraser—kneaded or vinyl—is best) - Small tortillon (for shading) Pamela Quirinale is multi-talented as both an artist and a musician. Her career as painter/illustrator and art educator has spanned 40+ years. She has taught in public, private, and parochial schools; art centers, junior college, and at the Rhode Island School of Design. While at RISD she taught drawing, painting, and mixed media classes both in continuing education and at the Museum of Art. She has won awards in both illustration and mural painting. |
