This course will be offered in person, out of doors
Participants will meet at the trailhead and enjoy the benefits of nature and physical activity while walking 2-4 miles through scenic meadows and hills and on woodland trails. We will notice the flora, fauna and other natural and historic features of our outstanding Berkshire landscape. Participants must be moderately fit and capable of walking 2-4 miles on uneven, hilly ground with rocks and roots; must wear sturdy walking shoes, and be prepared for weather changes. Use of hiking poles is suggested. Current COVID safety rules will be followed. Directions and pertinent information will be sent after you are enrolled.
Hiking sites: Goodnow Preserve, New Marlborough; Housatonic Rail Trail, Housatonic; Basin Pond, Lee; Hollow Fields, Richmond; Ashintully, Tyringham; and Old Mill Trail, Dalton/Hinsdale. (Sites may change according to conditions and other factors.)

Bess Dillman and her husband ran a small award-winning creative advertising agency and founded, published and edited a magazine in the Berkshires. Now retired, she is a certified Appalachian Mountain Club hiking leader, guiding hikes in the Berkshires since 2007.
