TEACHING FOR OLLI

OLLI at BCC offers courses and programs online via Zoom and in-person, as safety allows. OLLI provides training and support to all instructors on using the Zoom platform, and a staff member or volunteer will be on hand for all class sessions to assist as needed. For more information call 413.236.2190.

OLLI at BCC is a volunteer-run program, and all of our instructors are volunteers who love sharing their knowledge and insight with our members. In gratitude for their generosity, each instructor receives one free course for themselves or a friend or family member, an OLLI notebook, and an invitation to our annual Faculty Appreciation Party.

OLLI courses have no tests, no grades, and no prerequisites and cover a wide variety of subjects. They are usually held on weekdays during daytime hours, but can also be scheduled at other times if need be. They are generally 90 minutes long and run weekly, but other options are welcomed.

OLLI at BCC offers four terms of courses each year, with the majority of classes offered weekly for four to six weeks. The semesters are:

  • Winter: mid January through February
  • Spring: April to mid May
  • Summer:  mid June to mid August (new format/calendar for 2024 with greater start date flexibility)
  • Fall: mid September through October

We have five curriculum committees that review course proposals and work with instructors. They focus on the Arts, Science, Literature, Social Science, and Active Living.  We look forward to hearing from you!

If you are interested in teaching a course or workshop for OLLI, we would be delighted to hear from you! Please fill out an instructor or workshop form. If you are interested in giving a single lecture or talk for OLLI, please also fill out the workshop form.

If you need assistance with the form, please call 413.236.2190.  Thank you so much!
