R104 | Bicycling the Rail Trails | Larry Bennett, Michael Hohn Thursdays - 1:00 p.m. In-person at various locations Limit: 15 |
Bicycling on rail-trails in our region is both safe and beautiful. We will do five weekly No-Rider-Left-Behind rides with short (10 mile) and long (20+ mile) options each week. Rides will generally be from 1-3 p.m. on Thursdays at a minimum average pace of 10-12 MPH. This is a great way to get back on your bike for the first time in years or for more experienced riders to get back in shape for the upcoming riding season.
Riders choosing to do shorter routes MUST be accompanied back to the starting point by a ride leader. All trails are paved but the Harlem Valley Rail Trail includes a short section of hard packed gravel road. All types of bikes are suitable including Class 1 and 2 electric bikes. Michael Hohn led several biking groups around Portland, Oregon and has custom built several bikes for himself and his wife, Sara, who will be assisting on all of our rides. |
