This course is offered online via the free, easy-to-use Zoom program.

Join us for a lively series of conversations with preeminent performing artists from the Berkshires and beyond. Join classical music maven and performer Renee Rotta for a behind-the-scenes look into the lives of some of the most beloved artists of today. Learn about their backgrounds, their inspirations and have an opportunity to ask questions, as well. Featured performers include celebrated pianist Emanuel Ax, renowned conductors Ken-David Masur, Leon Botstein and Stéphane Denève, longtime classical music commentators Martin Bookspan and Brian Bell, actor/director Karen Allen, and other surprise guests!

Renee Rotta served as Tanglewood Marketing Coordinator for the Boston Symphony Orchestra from 2014 - 2019. Her program, “Behind the Scenes,” featured many distinguished personalities including broadcaster and “Live from Lincoln Center” commentator Martin Bookspan, whom she interviewed for his 90th birthday celebration. Upon graduating from the prestigious High School of Music & Art, she attended the Manhattan School of Music, the Salzburg Mozarteum and the Rubin Academy of Music in Jerusalem. She is a licensed Music Therapist and received additional degrees from New York University in both Music Education (B.S.) and Educational Theatre (M.A.) As a soprano, Renee performed with the Light Opera of Manhattan and currently serves as a cantorial soloist for the Jewish High Holidays.  A resident of Lenox, she has collaborated with presentations on the history of Tanglewood, Leonard Bernstein, and Serge Koussevitzky.  One of Renee’s great joys is to share her knowledge and love of music with others.
