This
course is the second part of the spring 2024 course of the same name. It is not
essential to have taken the spring course in order to enjoy the summer course.
Topics will include the impact of emerging technologies in the 1920s, the
forewarnings of the economic collapse to come, modernist architecture and the
sudden emergence of skyscrapers, the standardization of office work, people and
politics of note, and much more.
Stacy Wallach has been an OLLI instructor, mostly focused on American history, since 2007. Stacy is a graduate of the Mount Hermon School, Swarthmore College, and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. His instructional mode is visual -- lots of PowerPoint photos, maps, and charts. |
