Today's Headlines is a moderated discussion course that provides an opportunity to voice your opinions on national and international issues. Serving as guides and provocateurs, the moderators will introduce selected topics drawn from a variety of newspapers and the internet. Lively discussion is the centerpiece of this course. Phil Brown spent his career as a corporate attorney focused on mergers and acquisitions. He practiced in Toronto and moved to New York City in 2009 to head his law firm’s U.S. office. He retired in 2015. His interests include theater, opera, symphonic music, and jazz. He lives with Marg in Tribeca in New York City and in Woodstock, Vermont. Doug Cannon retired in 2023 after fifty years as a state and federal prosecutor, working in Chicago, North Carolina, and Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He has tried before juries all nature of cases from street crimes to white collar crimes, financial fraud and political corruption. He moved to the Berkshires after retirement. He majored in history as an undergraduate and finds it difficult to pass by the non-fiction section of a bookstore. |
