Lyrics to learn while waiting in line
and later say to yourself walking
alone through stands of birch and pine
until the poem is doing the talking.

Reading includes Yeats, Wordsworth, Dickinson, Frost, Millay, and others. No memorizing is required, but reciting will be welcomed, as poems change shape from different pipes.

Don Barkin has degrees from Harvard College and Cambridge University. He has taught seminars for a number of years at Yale and Wesleyan. He has published three books of poetry. He has been a newspaper reporter and school teacher and is a frequent OLLI at BCC instructor.
