One of OLLI's best kept secrets are our shared interest groups, free and exclusively for OLLI at BCC members. Whether you are brand new to OLLI at BCC, a seasoned member of our learning community, or not yet a member, you'll enjoy hearing from the leaders of our shared interest groups (SIGs), member-organized peer-led discussion and activity groups that all OLLI at BCC members are invited to join for free.  You'll learn more about our current groups, and how you can start one of your own!

The leaders of the following OLLI at BCC shared interest groups will be on hand and sharing information on their groups. It's a great way to find one for yourself! Click on the names for further information, including how to join.

Changing the Culture of Ageism
Join a group of people who want to change the culture of aging.

Contemporary Gender Roles
Explore and discuss current and future changes in gender roles in the families that our grandchildren will be creating and the changing roles of men and women.

NEW Creative Nonfiction Writing

Do you love to write and want to have a writers’ group to share and critique your work? If you do, consider joining our Creative Nonfiction SIG which meets monthly via Zoom.

Cross Country Ski Group (seasonal)
Get together with other OLLI Cross Country Skiers and find friends to ski with.

Downhill Ski Group (seasonal)
Recreational skiing with others for fun and safety. 

Foreign Language Films 

Join OLLI members for viewings of the world's greatest films, with animated discussion to follow.

French Conversation
Parlez-vous français? Would you like to practice your French with others in a relaxed setting? Meet up in informal settings for French conversation with other OLLI members.

Happy Needlers & Hookers: A Needlework GroupDo you enjoy knitting, crocheting, embroidery or other forms of needlework in good company? This group is forming just in time for a cozy winter.

NEW History of Music in The Berkshires - The Road House Era

Uncover the rich history of music in the Berkshires, particularly the Road House era.  The goal of this SIG is to bring this colorful history to life and create a widely distributed podcast that documents it.

Listening to Chamber Music
The Listening to Chamber Music SIG is for people who are interested in chamber music and who would enjoy learning about and listening to chamber music repertoire with other chamber music aficionados.

NEW Mindfulness & Meditation SIG

Mindfulness has many applications but is most associated with/as a meditation practice. The term mindfulness can be defined as a moment-to-moment awareness of one’s experience without judgment. This practice can provide one with skills that allow greater equanimity, while being with both the struggles and the joys that arise in life.

Murder, Mystery & Mayhem: A Book Group
If you love reading mystery novels, this group is for you. Books will be chosen from award winning American and international novels by SIG members. Members will take turns facilitating discussions. Meetings are held the fourth Monday of every month at 1:30 p.m. online.

Painting
A small, supportive group of painters who share their paintings in progress to get feedback from other artists and share useful techniques, materials etc.

Paper Crafting
Members of this group share expertise and ideas so that you can create cards and gift boxes using stamps and ink.

Play Reading
Love theatre, reading plays together and enjoying the Berkshire theatre scene? Join us!

Poetry Reading 

Join with other OLLI members to read and discuss great poems. 

Poetry Writing 

Share poetry you've written with other OLLI members.

NEW Tennis SIG (seasonal)

Do you enjoy playing recreational tennis? Are you looking for people to play with? Whether you enjoy just volleying the ball back and forth or a good competition, we would like to hear from you as we begin to establish a new Tennis Shared Interest Group.

Understanding Soccer
Want to know more about soccer?  This group meets (on Zoom or in person) to discuss all aspects of the game.  Both the technical and social aspects are considered.
