Day Trip to see the Total Eclipse in Shelburne, VT!

Do you want to see the April 8 total solar eclipse but the drive and/or hotel rooms seemed too much? Want to travel with some really fun people who also are excited about this once in a lifetime opportunity? Come travel with OLLI and Berkshire Community College!

OLLI at BCC and BCC have booked a coach bus day trip from the BCC campus to Shelburne Museum, just south of Burlington, VT and back. We cannot guarantee the weather and this trip will take place rain, clouds, or sunshine!

We will be traveling to the Shelburne Museum, Shelburne, VT and sharing our bus among OLLI members and BCC students, faculty, and staff.

The 2024 Solar Eclipse Zoom program on March 5 with OLLI at BCC on March 5 will introduce the importance of eclipses and provide tips for viewing.

Cost is $115 per OLLI at BCC member and for BCC Faculty and Staff (tickets available now!)
$125 for non-member and non-BCC guests (ticket sales open 2/26)

No refunds unless space is filled from a waiting list!  

Included: Bus ticket, admission to the Shelburne Museum, viewing glasses, some light snacks for the bus ride in each direction.

Optional: For an additional $25, you can add a boxed dinner that will be easy to eat on the bus from a local farm to table caterer.

Accessibility information:
Participants will need to be able to navigate stairs onto the bus, down the aisles, and walk short distances to the viewing site and to restrooms. They will need to be able to carry/roll their supplies to the viewing location. A restroom is available on the bus during travel and onsite at the museum.

April 8 Schedule
(Subject to change for traffic conditions, especially on return)

7:15 a.m.  Arrive at the North Parking Lot at Berkshire Community College
7:30 a.m. Bus leaves BCC and travel to Shelburne, VT for viewing
1:00 p.m. Arrive, stretch your legs, check out the museum, eat lunch, and set up your viewing spot
2:15 p.m. Eclipse begins
3:20 p.m. Totality
4:40 p.m. Eclipse ends, load up bus (pick up boxed dinners)
5 p.m. Return home
9 p.m. Arrive at BCC parking lot (We hope, but traffic may slow us down.)
Bring with you:

• A folding chair/camp chair or blanket
• Picnic lunch and dinner. Option to add boxed dinner for $25. The Café at the museum will be open for lunch with a limited menu (i.e. sandwiches, grilled cheese, salads) if you would prefer to purchase lunch on site.
• Any additional eclipse viewing gear
• Clothing layers!

We will be able to stow items under the bus – label your items!
