Lift your “spirits” by coming to one, two, or all three special tour and tasting events at Berkshire Mountain Distillers. The first session on 11/30 focuses on clear spirits such as their handmade gins and vodkas. The second session on 12/7 will explore “brown” spirits such as their hand-crafted whiskies, bourbon, and rum, with the third session on 12/14 delving into their special and unique distilled libations crafted in conjunction with local farms and breweries. You can sign up for one, two, or all three. Of course, bread, cheese and crackers will accompany your exclusive experiences.

Established in 2007, Berkshire Mountain Distillers' spirits are handcrafted in small batches in Sheffield, Massachusetts at the Berkshire’s first legal distillery since prohibition. They are one of the founding members of the craft distiller movement and their products have received numerous high accolades including Gold Medal Awards from the Beverage Tasting Institute and San Francisco Spirits Competition and national praise from publications like GQ, Details, New York Times, Wine Enthusiast and Jim Murray’s Whiskey Bible. As supporters of local agriculture and business, Berkshire Mountain Distillers uses regional materials in many of their products, creating a truly authentic artisanal brand. 

The tours and tastings will be led by Michael Kowalski, the Director of Sales & Hospitality at Berkshire Mountain Distillers.  Mr. Kowalski holds bachelor's degrees in Chemistry and Biology from Case Western Reserve University, and is a graduate of the Accelerated Wine & Beverage Program and a Certified Wine Professional from the Culinary Institute of America.

Mr. Kowalski is a Tasting Panelist for Wine & Spirits magazine, a Certified Sommelier with the Guild of Master Sommeliers, and a Certified Specialist of Spirits and Wine with the Society of Wine Educators. He has previously worked as the restaurant general manager at Wheatleigh (Best of Award of Excellence 2019, Wine Spectator Magazine), the dining room & beverage manager at The Point Resort, food and beverage director of Harvest Inn by Charlie Palmer, special events coordinator at The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone, and sales specialist for Frias Family Vineyards in St. Helena, CA.  He has been published in Wine Spectator and Wine & Spirits magazines.
