Tuesday, May 11th, 2-3pm Eastern Online Tour of the Susan B. Anthony Birthplace Museum
Join us for a live, online tour & talk of the Susan B. Anthony birthplace in the Berkshires town of Adams, Massachusetts, restored and opened as a museum in 2010. The two-story Federal-style house at the foot of Mount Greylock depicts family and work life and the Quaker community in the early 1800s, and includes Daniel Anthony’s store, the room where Anthony was born, a portrait gallery, authentic period pieces, ephemera, and a detailed timeline.
Thursday, May 13th, 2-3pm Eastern Vintage Tweets: Suffrage Era Postcards
Postcards, both personal and political, carried sentiments both for and against woman suffrage in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Using over 400 vintage postcards, Carol Crossed tells the story of the fight for women's voting rights in a new book, Vintage Tweets: Suffrage Era Postcards. She will discuss and many of the images from this illuminating collection.
