During the height of the Vietnam War, Richard Nixon employed an unusual scare tactic in his efforts to reach an honorable withdrawal. He led Vietnam to believe he was crazy enough to start a nuclear war. Nixon would come to describe his volatile approach of threatening unpredictability as “The Madman Theory.” From his first days in office President Trump has, both intentionally and by accident, employed his own “madman theory”, creating an unpredictable and unstudied foreign policy.
Join us for a live, online, interactive conversation featuring CNN's Jim Sciutto in conversation with Politico reporter Daniel Lippman. Your questions and comments are welcomed!
The event is free and open to all, but RSVPs are required. Click here to RSVP.
