NEW - Writing Group SIG
Free and open exclusively to OLLI at BCC members
First meeting will be on September 30, 2026 from 5-6:30 p.m. Eastern on Zoom
Do you enjoy expressing yourself through the written word? Are you looking for a supportive community of writers? Then join fellow scribes in the Writing Group SIG, where together you’ll pursue the art, craft and love of writing.
The group’s writing focus will be primarily storytelling through memoir. Members will meet on Zoom twice a month to share their writing (from at-home assignments) and participate in positive critiques of the pieces. An exchange of helpful resources and tips is encouraged.
At each session, two prompts to choose between will be suggested for the next meeting’s writing assignment. To allow enough time for reading and critiquing, the word count for assignments should be around 750. If time allows during meetings, members will engage in a short writing exercise in response to a prompt.
This SIG is open to beginner and more experienced writers and will meet every other week on Wednesdays, beginning September 30, 2026, from 5-6:30 pm. Limited to 10 participants.
