Peter Shane is a leading scholar of administrative law and separation of powers. He retired as the Davis Chair at Ohio State’s Moritz College of Law and now serves as Distinguished Scholar in Residence at New York University School of Law. His recent book is Democracy’s Chief Executive: Interpreting the Constitution and Defining the Future of the Presidency. He is a strong critic of originalism and what he calls ‘presidentialism’. Shane earned his degrees at Harvard College and Yale Law School. He also has a podcast, "Democracy's Chief Executive" on the American presidency.
Tom Gerety taught constitutional law through most of his career. He retired as Collegiate Professor of Law and Humanities at NYU. He led the Brennan Center for Justice and was president of both Trinity and Amherst Colleges. Tom earned law and philosophy degrees from Yale.
