On June 18 at 11:00am, at the Berkshire Museum, JEREMY YUDKIN, Professor of Music at Boston University, pre-concert lecturer for the Tanglewood concerts for the last 40 years, and a long-standing and beloved OLLI lecturer, will present a talk entitled “HIGHLIGHTS OF TANGLEWOOD 2022.”  He will discuss the great works featured this summer at Tanglewood, including Mozart’s greatest opera DON GIOVANNI, with its unprecedented and psychologically intense depictions of human beings and human emotions,  and Stravinsky’s earth-shattering, totally innovative THE RITE OF SPRING, a work that changed music forever.  Don’t miss this compelling lecturer’s only-once-a-year OLLI talk: Saturday, June 18, at 11:00am, at the Berkshire Museum.

Jeremy Yudkin is a much-lauded professor at Boston University, one of the few selected professors across the country to present talks at One-Day University, prize-winning scholar and author (he has written ten books), and much admired and beloved speaker for the Tanglewood pre-concert lectures.  He combines profound scholarship and musical insight with accessibility, clarity, and charm.  He is one of the Distinguished Speakers for OLLI, where he has been a lecturer for over twenty-five years.

“He makes me hear music in a way I never have before.’

“He’s the best teacher – in any subject – I’ve ever had!”

“There’s nobody like Jeremy to enlighten people about music, no matter what their background.”

Admission is $10 for OLLI at BCC and Berkshire Museum members, and $15 for the general public.  Admission is free for Berkshire Community College students, youth 17 and under, and those holding WIC, EBT/SNAP, or ConnectorCare cards.
