Cryptocurrency, a digital currency that has been developing for over ten years, has attracted intense and accelerating interest across the world. It has also sparked controversy, at different levels, with much to be clarified. Join our two speakers, Paul Farella, the Managing Director at Willow, an independent registered investment advisory firm located in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and Lewis Cohen, the Co-founder of DLx Law, a law firm created to serve the needs of a new, technology-driven economy, for an insightful discussion. Our speakers have deep experience in the field and will explain the fundamentals of the system, based on blockchain, and will highlight the many implications of its growth and potential, both positive and negative. 

Lewis Cohen is the co-founder of DLx Law, a law firm created to serve the needs of a new, technology-driven economy.  Lewis works together with co-founder Angela Angelovska-Wilson and the rest of the DLx Law team to provide in-depth legal counsel to startups, growth companies, major enterprises, and governmental entities on a broad range of matters involving the use of blockchain, cryptocurrencies and other disruptive technologies.  Passionate about the ability of innovative technologies to change the way businesses and individuals work together, Lewis has become a major advocate for potential of emerging technologies to benefit and transform industries around the globe.

Lewis brings more than 20 years of experience as a traditional capital markets and finance partner at two Global Top 50 law firms.  Lewis is a frequent public speaker on the topic of blockchain and distributed ledger technology.  Lewis served on the Board and Executive Committee of the Structured Finance Industry Group (SFIG), and is recognized by Chambers Global as one of only three lawyers in “Band 1” for Legal: Blockchain & Cryptocurrencies – USA. 

Paul Farella is the Managing Director at Willow, an independent registered investment advisory firm located in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and Willow|Crypto. He works closely with the firm’s founder Alexandra Dest to manage over $140 million in client assets. Willow is a B-Corp (social benefit corporation) and certified Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) which prioritizes ESG (environmental, social, governance) factors in the portfolio creation process.

Paul holds an MBA with a focus on sustainability from Antioch University New England. He earned a BSBA in Economics and Finance from the Barney School of Business at the University of Hartford. Paul is a member of the Stakeholder Council for the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), an international NGO that helps businesses, governments, and other organizations understand and communicate their impacts on issues such as climate change, human rights, and corruption. Paul is also a member of the Digital Asset Council of Financial Professionals.
