The OLLI Special Events Committee presents

A Delicious Lunch and a Great Afternoon of Theatre

Live at Hancock Shaker Village

Wednesday, July 14, 2021 12:45 pm

This event is currently at capacity.  Click here to register for the Wait List, or click to register for the added performance on July 15th.

First, join us for a delicious lunch on the scenic grounds of Hancock Shaker Village.

Then enjoy a outdoor, tented matinee performance of Eleanor Burgess's

The Niceties

Followed by an exclusive talkback for OLLI participants.

The Washington Post calls The Niceties “a barnburner of a play,” and “one of the best plays I’ve seen about who gets to tell the story of America, and how.”

Zoe, a Black student at an elite liberal arts college, is called into her white professor’s office to discuss her paper about slavery’s effect on the American Revolution. What begins as a polite clash in perspectives explodes into an urgent debate about race, history, and power.

Click here to join the wait listor click here to register for the added performance on July 15th.  You may also call 413.236.2190 (M-F 9am-4pm).

Registration is $60 for OLLI members, $70 for non-members or $20 for members who already hold a subscription to the Chester Theatre.  We are not able to offer refunds unless space is filled from a waiting list.  Your payment includes lunch & the matinee.

Please note the event will be in-person in a tent.  Masks are currently required.

Registration Deadline is July 5th.
