The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art
Guided Tour & Lunch
St. Petersburg, Florida Thursday, February 28th, 11am
OLLI at BCC's annual southwestern Florida special event features a guided tour of the new James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art, which has transformed from art in hallways (OLLI's 2012 visit) to a full-fledged museum. Their greatly expanded collection began in the 1950s with predominately American artists including Alexander Calder, Salvatore Dali, Roy Lichtenstein, Joan Miro, Andy Warhol, and Jamie Wyeth. It has grown to include Western & Southwestern Art as Tom & Mary James traveled west. We'll enjoy a guided tour including their special exhibit: Pop Expressionist & Painterly Realism paintings by Tampa Bay artist James Michaels, inspired by popular culture, childhood memories and life experiences, as well as lunch together and time to explore.
