Economic dissatisfaction was a key driver of Donald Trump's upset victory last November. Stuart Schweitzer, who retired in 2014 after a long career as Economist and Market Strategist at J.P. Morgan, will offer his perspective on why growth remained so meager for so long after the 2008-09 financial crisis, and what is needed to restore our economy to lasting, solid growth. He will assess the early moves by the Trump Administration, and evaluate the implications for the economy and financial markets.

Stuart Schweitzer, who joined J.P. Morgan from the Federal Reserve in 1975, was a senior voice of the firm on the economy, investment outlook and portfolio strategy. He was a frequent speaker at investment conferences, a frequent guest on CNBC, Bloomberg TV, and PBS Nightly Business Report, and was quoted regularly in the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal and other business periodicals. He is a graduate of City College of New York, holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota, and served as a research fellow at the Brookings Institution.
