Global climate change is the defining challenge of the 21st century.  It threatens the agricultural and environmental systems on which we depend. It threatens to make great swaths of the earth, both coastal and inland areas alike, unlivable, displacing tens of millions, if not hundreds of millions, of people.

Why have we failed to adequately address the problem? What policies should we pursue as a nation in response to these threats? What can we do as individuals?

Dr. Ralph Bradburd is the David A. Wells Professor of Political Economy and Chair of Environmental Studies Program at Williams College. He has served as a consultant for the World Bank, USAID, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the non-profit Robin Hood Foundation. Dr. Bradburd has also served as a Visiting Research Scholar at the Federal Trade Commission.
