Fifty food enthusiasts across fifteen communities created this first Berkshire OLLI Cooks, a celebration of culinary pleasures to commemorate our 25th Anniversary.
The contributors, all OLLI members, are a potpourri of personalities and styles, their recipes reflecting a diversity of interests, skills, and backgrounds. You’ll see that the collection mixes down-home basics and high-end sophistication, with most offerings somewhere in between.
We wanted to feature the contributors themselves, thinking of their comments and recipe styles as invitations to a widening social network. Perhaps you’ll find old friends or make new ones through these pages. If you’re inspired to organize parties or potlucks to sample the recipes, we hope you’ll enjoy appraising them.
As you thumb through it, think of this book as an invitation to a buffet party, with samples to excite your palate, satisfy a craving, or simply provide that deep feeling of contentment one gets from good food well-prepared. Before the evening is over, you will naturally have found your social circle and your personal taste, be it classic, off-beat, homespun, gourmet or eclectic.
