Designing a Life at any Age
with Mary B. O'Neill, Ph.D.

Three week series:
Monday, October 21
Monday, October 28, &
Monday, November 4

10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

In-person only.

We can’t chuck it all and abandon our present lives. We’re embedded in relationships and situations. We live in the real world. Yet, we have the opportunity at any time to bring creativity into our lives, take more control, and move incrementally into a better place. And have fun doing it!

This dynamic and interactive workshop provides tools for you to (re)connect with your values, skills, and talents and discern paths forward at any stage in life. Using a combination of Stanford's Designing Your Life and Life Design Catalyst methodology, this hands-on, collaborative course will promote self-reflection and radically collaborative interactions with fellow participants. You’ll ideate possibilities and create concrete baby steps to move you forward into a life of alignment and coherence. Our time together will reduce abstract rabbit-holing about your future, increase efficacy and joy, and foster connections with fellow classmates. You will leave the workshop feeling unstuck, more compassionate toward yourself, and gather momentum toward a life that feels right for you.

Mary B. O'Neill, Ph.D., has reinvented herself more times than Madonna and has utilized all the tools participants will learn about in this workshop. She is an award-winning college instructor, dynamic educator, and fun and engaging presenter. O'Neill holds a philosophy doctorate and has broad experience designing creative programs and curricula that promote personal reflection and growth. She is a Stanford University-Certified Designing Your Life Educator.

O’Neill is a lecturer and an Executive in Residence at the Career Success Center at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, CT. She has created and taught courses in philosophy, humanities, marketing, honors, first-year, and career education. She created the popular Philosophy of Happiness class, an interdisciplinary course that combined philosophy, neuroscience, psychology, and mindfulness to help students think about and engage in a well-lived life. In 2014, O'Neill was awarded the Systemwide Adjunct Award for Excellence in Teaching for the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU). She was recently part of the Campus Cohort of the Greater Good Science Center’s Bridging Differences in Higher Education Learning Fellowship.

In her private career coaching practice, she helps clients see their own potential, reduce siloed thinking, and reframe possibilities to move forward into a more meaningful life. She is the co-creator and co-host of the Main Street Moxie podcast and a senior contributing writer for Main Street Magazine in Millerton, NY.
