Chess SIG

Interested in Chess?  Looking to learn chess or play with experienced players in The Berkshires and beyond?  This OLLI Shared Interest Group (SIG) might be just what you have been waiting for.  This mentally stimulating, strategic game can be a great workout for your brain and this group will help you get the most out it.  All levels of skill are welcome.

The OLLI Chess SIG meets in person or on Zoom the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 2pm. Given the typical length of a chess match, the in-person meetings are used for discussion of strategies, viewing video matches, other forms of training as well as socializing with other chess players.

This SIG also serves as a vehicle for members to meet other chess players with whom they can get together (again in person or on line) to play chess games.  The SIG leaders recommend the use of chess.com for online games and leaders of the SIG are happy to help members who not familiar with this website, become more comfortable with it.

For more information about this SIG please contact Ed Lane.  Ed has also created a blog with messages, pictures etc. relevant to this SIG.  Here is a link to his blog.
