OLLI at BCC members and community members are invited to become participants, team members, and audience in a new podcast: Living Well Into the Future

Living Well Into The Future is a new podcast series conceived by Julie Koppenheffer of Berkshire County and co-produced by OLLI at BCC. Living Well Into The Future has been enthusiastically endorsed by OLLI's “Changing Aging” Shared Interest Group.

The Goals of the Living Well Podcast Series

Julie’s and the “Changing Aging” goal is threefold:

  • First, to shine a light on topics critically important to us as older adults. Broad topics such as food, housing, education, and the like will be narrowed into provocative subtopics.
  • Second, to let us hear not only from our age group but also adults a generation or two younger so that we can learn from different life experiences with these topics.
  • Third, to hear from an expert about the future of the topic and to solicit thoughts from our guests about how that future would affect them or need to change to accommodate them.

Julie and team are gearing up for recording the first shows of Living Well Into The Future, which will deal with food: food insecurity, food production, nutrition and diet, and eating disorders.

Access to the Living Well Podcast Series

The show will be heard on WTBR in Pittsfield (89.7 FM) live and it will also stream free and on-demand through Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and Stitcher.

How You Can Contribute to the First Living Well Podcasts

As a guest: Are you a 60-or-better adult with a life arc that contains an engaging story to tell about the topic at hand—e.g., a story about a particular diet that you adopted and abandoned or a diet that you follow and espouse; a story about eating too much or too little, leading to problems that you have overcome or that still trouble you; a story about living in a different country or culture that has affected your diet?

Recommending guests: Do you know an adult in their 20s, 30s, or 40s who has life experience and an engaging story to tell on the topic of food?

As an expert:  Do you have extensive experience on one of the above topics, and can you foresee what will happen in this field 10 or 20 years from now?
